Detailed Description

Focused on uplifting Indigenous communities; this initiative targeted sustainable income generation by utilizing degraded land, promoting Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs), and enhancing forest-based enterprises. Through this holistic approach, the project not only boosted the economic opportunities but also ensured the long-term ecological and cultural resilience of these communities.

Key project objectives are:

  • To raise the income of the forest-dependent Indigenous communities utilizing the degraded and unused land inside the community-managed forests as well as in the private land.
  • To increase production and promote the processing and marketing of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) and other NTFPs sustainably.
  • To increase the income of forest-based enterprises operated by forest-dependent community members through sustainable forest management (SFM).
