Project Detail

In a concerted effort to fortify flood resilience, a multifaceted project was launched, encompassing critical measures to mitigate risks and enhance preparedness. Led by a collaborative consortium, the initiative spans scenario design, vulnerability assessments, early warning system reinforcement, and capacity-building training. With a focus on proactive measures, the project aims to empower communities and decision-makers alike, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to anticipate, mitigate, and respond effectively to flood disasters, thereby fostering greater resilience in vulnerable regions.

Key points of this projects are:

  • Design and develop flood modelling scenarios and identify trigger for anticipatory action.
  • Conduct household level vulnerability and risk assessment and visualize risk for decision support systems.
  • Support to strengthen existing early warning system for anticipatory action.
  • Provide hands-on training to build capacity of the targeted municipality and staff assigned by the project.
