Dr. Schwanghart shared the steep rise of Himalayan Hydropower and its risk to the environment. He also highlighted recent Hydropower damage to the vulnerability of Himalayan Hydropower to geomorphological events. As well as reflected on terrain analysis as a tool and measure to characterize sensitive landscapes and predict damage.

Dr. Wolfgang Schwanghart, Research Associate, University of Potsdam, Institute of Earth and Environmental Science, Germany. Dr. Wolfgang Schwanghart has completed his PostDoc at the University of Potsdam, Working Geohazards, funded by PROGRESS. He has more than 10 years’ experience in working with and teaching in GIS, geographic database systems and statistics.
