The DRISHTI project focused on developing an inclusive and evidence-based trigger system for drought and food insecurity to enable timely anticipatory action. The project developed frameworks, indicators, and thresholds for drought and food insecurity and strengthened the Khaderi drought monitoring system through regular monitoring and tool updates. It also supported the localization and dissemination of Agro-Met Advisory Bulletins in collaboration with NARC and local governments. The project strengthened local government preparedness through the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and drought action plans, while engaging farmers, communities, technical experts, and other stakeholders throughout the process.
