Kathmandu, 22 September 2026 — The Institute of Himalayan Risk Reduction (IHRR) and the Department of Civil Engineering, Thapathali Campus, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic collaboration, research engagement, and professional development opportunities for students and graduates.

The partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice by creating opportunities for internships, technical training, career exposure, and employment for civil engineering students and graduates.

The collaboration will also promote joint research activities, knowledge sharing, technical discussions, and the organization of symposiums, providing opportunities for students, researchers, faculty members, and practitioners to exchange expertise and engage in practical research and development initiatives.

Through this partnership, IHRR and Thapathali Campus seek to strengthen connections between academia and professional practice, particularly in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, civil engineering, and emerging technologies.

The MoU reflects IHRR's continued commitment to supporting young professionals, fostering applied research, and strengthening institutional collaboration to advance disaster resilience in Nepal.
