Mr. Narayangopal Ghimire (PhD Scholar)

Narayangopal Ghimire, an engineering geologist with over three decades of experience, specializes in engineering geology, disaster mitigation, and geotechnical studies. He holds an M.Sc. in Geology (1993) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and an M.Sc. (2001) in Disaster Mitigation from Sikkim Manipal University, India. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Tribhuvan University's Central Department of Geology, Mr. Ghimire has extensive expertise in landslide risk analysis, slope stability assessments, and geological data interpretation. He has contributed to national and international projects, including USAID’s Landslide Early Warning System and Risk Sensitive Land Use Planning. He is currently a PhD Scholar at IOST Tribhuwan University. A Vice President of the Nepal Geological Society in the 19th committee, Mr. Ghimire is an active member of numerous professional associations, including the International Association of Engineering Geology and Environment (IAEG) and the American Geophysical Union (AGU). His dedication to research, field assessments, and environmental conservation continues to make a significant impact in Nepal’s geoscience sector.
