Ms. Laxmi Acharya
I am a Passionate Geomatics Engineering student with a strong foundation in GIS, Remote Sensing, and spatial data analysis. My passion lies in leveraging geospatial technologies for disaster risk reduction, with a particular focus on Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) assessment and climate-induced hazard mapping in the Himalayan region. I have hands-on experience in satellite imagery interpretation, image classification, and geospatial analysis using a range of tools and platforms. I am actively involved in research and continuously advocate for the broader application of geospatial technologies in addressing environmental and societal challenges. In the long term, I aspire to contribute to evidence-based research and disaster risk management in Nepal by integrating geospatial solutions. My goal is to collaborate with national and international institutions to support climate resilience, policy planning, and sustainable development in vulnerable mountain regions.
